We received a call for our Inclination At-Bit solution after a directional company had suffered multiple Rotary Steerable failures and could not get any of their assemblies to hold angle. This was a re-entry well in west Texas in which the operator wanted to reach a horizontal displacement of around 2 miles.
The dog leg severity (DLS) was erratic and not optimal for steering in the zone. We prepared our 475 GeoTracker At-Bit Sub with Continuous Inclination and placed between the Mud Motor and Bit, for an at-bit solution that would offer the Directional Drillers immediate trend analysis for wellbore trajectory management.
This solution not only provided improved drilling DLS and reduced build and drop rates in rotation, it provided the operator a continuous reliable measurement throughout the entire lateral.
